Story & Photos by Dean Echols
Members of the local Vintage Chevrolet Club of America recently traveled to Rapid City, South Dakota, to attend the club’s 65th Anniversary Meet, held this past July. The event brought together more than 200 vintage Chevrolets from across the United States, along with approximately 400 enthusiasts for a week of judging, touring and enjoying some great Chevrolet history. Participants toured the scenic countryside in the spirit of Chevrolet’s classic “See the USA in Your Chevrolet” theme. The gathering also attracted an international crowd, with members traveling from Australia, Sweden and Denmark to join the celebration. For Dean Echols, board member of the local Central AZ Region of the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America and the many other participants, the 65th Anniversary Meet was a great opportunity to see an impressive collection of vintage Chevrolets while sharing the road, stories and camaraderie that make the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America such a special organization.
