Howard & Debbie Blackburn’s

1952 Chevy Styleline Deluxe Convertible

I bought the car in 2004. It took 3 years to build it, so it was done in 2007. I sold the car in 2010, but I always regretted selling it. I needed money for cash flow for my business, so I sold it.

I started looking for the car in 2015, and I asked friends to keep an eye out for it. In 2016, a friend was talking to a man about a car he had for sale. He lived in the Midwest, and he sent pictures of the car. Lo & behold, next to the car he was interested in you could barely see orange with green flames. My friend sent me the man’s information. I called him and we talked, and I told him how I built the car. He kept it in a temperature-controlled building with many cars he owned, but never really drove them. I asked him it he would sell it to me, and he said “No”

My wife contacted him every year before my birthday and our anniversary, and asked him if he was ready to sell the car.

His answer was always the same, “Let me think about it!” He never contacted her after that.

Finally in 2023, 7 years later, he decided to sell it since he never drove it. He said he thought I should have it and drive it! (yea for a nagging wife). We agreed on a price and he shipped to us in August 2023! It looked just like it did when I sold it. He was not the person I originally sold it to; he bought it at Barrett- Jackson Auto Auction.

In 2012 the car was picked by Street Rodders Magazine as one of the Top 100 Cars! I did not own it at the time, but I have the magazine that was in the Top 100 cars.
