For the past 13 years, I’ve been dedicated to supporting Guadalupe and Miguel Alvarado by collecting backpacks, school supplies, and other essentials with the incredible help of the car community. Together, we’ve managed to support over 600 children each year, which is truly amazing. This December, we’ll be continuing our efforts into the 14th year with a Toy Drive at the Martin Auto Museum, where entry will be free for those who bring a backpack donation. The most rewarding part for me is being there to personally hand out the supplies and see the joy on the kids’ faces, all made possible by the generosity of the car community.
A huge thank you to everyone who donated backpacks and school supplies, and especially to FOX 10 Phoenix for covering the story and encouraging so many people to contribute. I’m also grateful to the Martin Auto Museum & Event Center for their generosity in allowing free admission with a donation. Thank you to the car community and Mel Martin for making all of this possible!
