Hidden in the streets of Havasu are many gems and this is definitely one of them. Dick Raczuk has one of the most awesome fabrication shops at his beautiful home in Lake Havasu City. Dick comes with impeccable credentials, former owner/founder of Kerker Exhaust, #1 supplier of motorcycle exhaust in the world and the Hot Rod tool to install steel braided line, KoulTools as well as many more solving hose assembly and hard-line sealing issues. He is the wizard in this area with a dream shop. Dick always says, “I never went to work a day in my life”, his loved what he does.
Dick and Ken Sliger decided to buy a Go-Kart Shop and then the seed was planted. Dick and Ken started Kendick Engineering building motorcycle parts which evolved into Kerker Exhaust. Raczuk was ready for the next chapter at 45 retired to work in his other passion, Hot Rodding!
Raczuk, one of the founding members of the Havasu Deuces, held their first show March 2016 and for 10 years it has been Deuce Heaven. Havasu is home to more ’32 Fords (per capita) than any other location in the world. Yes, this author has a ’32 Ford Roadster. The event was created to follow the Deuce Days in Victoria BC that was held every 3 years that brought fields of Deuces to the event. The Havasu Deuces, 5013c, selected Lake Havasu Unified School District as recipient of net proceeds for kids that could not afford to take part in athletics. This event has become the Deuce Social event of the year for us Deuce folks.
This author does fabrication, and I was humbled by his ability, knowledge, shop full of every imaginable piece of equipment as well as an inventor of “KOOL TOOLS” of every imagination. His stable of cars is of the highest quality with his innovation and attention to detail that puts him as the standard in this classic car world. One of my favorites was the ’41 Hollywood that as so much innovation and attention to detail that it’s in a class of its own. Not to mention a Cadillac Northstar engine twisting a 700R4 transmission that drove a ’82 corvette rear end. Oh Yes it has twin turbos with intercoolers. Dick showed this author how he fabricated the upper grill from aluminum with concentric slats to mirror the original grille design.
Dick, being a hot rodder in his blood and part of the Havasu Deuce scene he has one of the coolest ’32 Ford Roadsters with one bad ass flathead engine, French vintage of course. These were used in Military Trucks. The engine has 8, yes, 8 individual IDA’s to feed the fuel injectors. The ignition system uses Emtron ECH that gets the notice from the crank mounted trigger wheel with individual coils packs for each cylinder.
