Mark from Vintage Iron & Restorations (480-922-2480) told me about this event on Friday, Feb. 3rd. I hadn’t been to Fountain Hills in a few years, so my oldest friend Terry Joy that moved from Oregon to Peoria AZ a few years ago and I headed off to cover the event. OMG, we were not prepared for what we saw. First, there were thousands of people walking around enjoying the close to 900 vehicles that were on display and parked all around the huge Fountain Hills lake. We saw Porsche, Ferraris, Rolls & Bentleys, Astin Martins, Mercedes, BMWs, Lamborghinis, Masserattis, and even a nice display of vintage French Citroens. There were many other makes, including lots of good old American cars and trucks. Oh yeah, there were also several helicopters on display. There were also several dozens of sponsor and vendor displays. I love community car show events and this was one of the best I’ve been to in a long time. Hundreds of thousands of dollars have been donated to The Phoenix Children’s Hospital from the Concours in the Hills events. The title sponsor was Gila River Resorts & Casinos and presented by Matson Money.
