Vintage Iron & Restoration in Scottsdale, always has cool and interesting vehicles in the shop, here are four current examples. A 1964 Corvette is being fitted with a completely new Ridetech suspension system. It’s also being converted from a small block Chevy engine to a modern GM Performance LS3 6.2 liter V-8 and performance built 4L60E automatic overdrive transmission. A complete new mandrel-bent stainless steel exhaust rounds out the upgrades. A 1971 Oldsmobile 4-4-2 is receiving a brand new Roadster Shop chassis, along with lots of other upgrades, including a new GM Perf. 427 cid. LS based engine and 6 speed 6L80E AOD transmission. Wilwood disc brakes will be added to all 4 corners. A pretty red 1960 Chevy El Camino is being converted from small block V-8 to a GM 6.2 liter LS3 V-8 with over 400 horsepower. A 4L60 AOD transmission will be part of the transformation along with many other upgrades. Vintage Iron & Restoration does just about anything you can imagine on the older vehicles, from basic maintenance to simple or complicated repairs to serious performance upgrades including engine and transmission swaps and everything in between. Doing complete restorations are also a big part of the business. A 1957 Ford Thunderbird is in the beginning stages of a complete ground-up Restomod restoration. The car has been fully stripped down to the bare metal. The custom build will include a new Roadster Shop chassis and a modern Ford 5.0 liter Coyote V-8 engine mated to a Ford 8 speed automatic transmission.
