The Hangout Garage

Yes, this shop is a bit off the beaten path out in the Southeast Valley. They work on 1950 to 1980 muscle cars, classics, and trucks. The original family has been in the automotive industry since 1929. Today, The Hangout Garage specializes in disc brake conversions, Vintage A/C conversions, engine swaps, suspension upgrades, and American Auto Wire installations. They even do pre-purchase vehicle inspections, which can really help when you want a second opinion on a specialty vehicle you’re thinking about buying.

Shown here are a few recent examples. A 1969 Pontiac Firebird convertible has been fitted with a freshly built Pontiac 400 V-8 “Stroker” engine. The engine has a new stroker crank, new rods and pistons, 10.5:1 compression, and a new Comp Cams roller cam and lifters. A classic 1948 Packard sedan had been in a museum for many years. The Hangout Garage will be doing everything required to make this car a safe and reliable driver again. A 1959 Corvette is being fitted with a Vintage Air A/C system.
