Tempe Speed specializes in doing General Motors LS-based engine conversions. Here are three examples and something different. A great looking 1971 Chevy C-10 Hot Rod pickup came into the shop with a nice running 350 V-8, but the owner wanted a modern 4.8 liter LS engine with a big cam upgrade and a new Hughes Performance 4L80E automatic overdrive transmission. It now has all that including Dirty Dingo motor mounts and a new custom fitted rear-mounted gas tank. It also gets new Dakota Digital RTX gauges. A 1979 Jeep CJ-7 has now been converted to a 430 horsepower 6.2 liter LS3 and 4L70E AOD transmission. Again, Dirty Dingo motor mounts were used for the engine. A new under-dash A/C system was also installed and new hardened axles as well. A very unique 1993 Lexus SC-400 had been converted into an Off-Road car. Tempe Speed has installed a 6.0 liter LS engine and Turbo 400 transmission and a new B&M gate shifter. On the something different side, a 1954 Chevy 3100 pickup came into the shop with a tired old straight six engine. The owner also brought in a fully rebuilt straight six engine, fitted with a FiTech EFI unit. Tempe Speed will be installing that new engine, no LS conversion here.
