Michael D’s Kustom Koaches

This beautiful 1978 Chevy Silverado (square body) pickup was just finished by Michael from a complete bumper-to-bumper custom build. The project got started with a rough bare bones cab, that Mike worked on until it was RIGHT. From there he wanted to use as many factory original parts as possible, so, in that process he used parts and components from at least six different trucks and there are even front suspension components from a 1986 Corvette. The frame from the cowl back is from a 1976 Short-bed pickup. The frame was completely stripped and powder coated. Michael spent many hours getting the truck’s panels to fit just right, which can require taking them on and off countless times. The finished truck does have a few aftermarket parts, like the flat tailgate and some trim pieces. The interior features an original look with an original bench seat. The seat has been completely redone with custom materials & fabrics by Country Upholstery in Glendale, AZ. The engine is a pretty much bone stock 1995 Camaro 350 V-8 and a 4L60E automatic overdrive transmission. After all of the mechanicals and countless hours of body preparation, Michael then painted the truck in the beautiful Torch Red base-coat clear-coat custom paint job you see here.
