There are always several vehicles in the Loper’s Service Center. On this day, there was a 1954 Chevy Bel Air, that will soon be reunited with its fully in-house rebuilt 235 cid straight six engine and its 2 speed Powerglide automatic transmission that Mike also rebuilt. A pretty rare 2018 Mustang GT 350 is being upgraded with new BBK long tube stainless steel headers. A white 454 big block powered ‘69 Chevy Chevelle is getting a Holley Sniper EFI system and it’s being converted to a manual 5 speed Tremec transmission and clutch set up, plus disc brakes up front. A ‘69 Camaro had just been tuned on the Loper’s in-house chassis dyno cell. Before that, the shop had converted it to a Tremec 5 speed trans & clutch and a full custom exhaust system was added to the 454 big block engine. The engine tuning and dyno pulls netted 521 horsepower and 540 pound feet of torque. In Mike’s engine build room, the ‘54 Bel Air’s 6 cylinder engine was ready to install. Next to it was a fully built Chevy 496 cid big block V-8. It made 545 HP & 560 pound feet. A fully rebuilt 700R4 automatic trans goes along with the 496 engine. Both will be going into a ‘74 Chevy Monte Carlo. A Ford 408 cid stroker Windser V-8 was ready for customer pick up. A 572 cid Chevy big block engine with 575HP and 621 pound feet was also ready. Mike personally builds all the engines and transmissions done by Loper’s. A pair of 1970 Chevelles are having their 4 speed Muncie transmissions rebuilt and getting a new clutch. A Corvette Z06 is being upgraded with a more aggressive cam. A 1952 Chevy pickup is getting a modern new Heidts front suspension. A ‘66 Corvette Roadster is at Loper’s with a “punch-list” of misc. mechanical maintenance requirements. These are just a small example of the wide variety of work you can have done at the Loper’s Service Center. And, don’t forget, the Loper’s Performance Center is loaded with name brand performance and racing parts. Call Lopers at 602-264- 5288.
