Ken’s Transmissions

Ken’s Transmission has been doing transmission diagnosis, repairs, and rebuilds for well over 35 years. Three and a half decades ago, domestic and foreign transmissions were pretty simple and had no electronics built into them, but that began to change in the 1980’s. Today, modern automatic overdrive transmissions are full of sophisticated electronics and computers. Some transmissions have up to 10 speeds and were designed to provide maximum fuel efficiency, by keeping the engine RPM right at the maximum level. The Ken’s Transmission technicians have the knowledge and experience to rebuild those super high-tech computer-controlled transmissions, but they still love working on the older transmissions as well. Here are two recent examples; The yellow truck is a 1956 Ford F-100, with old-school transmission and the other vehicle is a 2016 Ford Flex with its six speed 6F50 AOD transmission that’s full of electronics and computer controls.
