They have a complete in-house engine/ transmission Dept. and a complete Service Dept. and a fully stocked Parts Dept. Here are some recent Engine Dept. examples. A Class 12 Off-Road 2276cc VW race engine and trans-axle have been completely refreshed for the 2023 race season, starting with the upcoming Mint 400. On another engine stand is a fully built 2332cc turbo-charged VW engine now with about 350 horsepower. The transaxle is also being fully rebuilt. This combination will soon power a V W double cab pickup. A 1959 Porsche 356 Speedster engine has been fully restored to concourse quality. On Feb. 4th weekend the Doug’s Buggs orange ‘69 VW Class 11 Off-Road race car will be competing in the “King of the Hammers” race inJohnston Valley CA. The shop has the car fully race-prepped for the 2023 season. A beautiful blue full custom 1956 V W Ragtop show car will be completely assembled at Doug’s Buggs & Bunnies. There were several vehicles out in the Service Dept., including a ‘69 VW Bug (up on the lift) and a VW sand car below it. Both cars will be receiving complete engine rebuilds. A 1973 VW Bug that came to the shop from Colorado, is receiving a complete bumper-to-bumper review and repairs as needed to be used for daily driving. A 1973 VW Thing will be receiving a complete mechanical makeover. Engine, trans, electrical, brakes and whatever else is needed.
