As usual, there were several neat vehicles in the hot rod shop on this day. Progress continues on a very unique 1970 English Austin called “Hirem”, a full custom build. It’s now powered by a 430+ horsepower GM 6.2 liter LS3 V-8, full custom exhaust system, and includes a complete new wiring harness. It also has air conditioning, power rack & pinion steering with Flaming River right hand drive steering. This vehicle will be used to tow an English sports car. A 1978 Chevy C-10 pickup is being completely transformed into a “FAST’’ street cruiser truck. Power will come from a Nelson Racing Engines supercharged 427 LS based engine. The 4L80E automatic overdrive transmission
has been heavily upgraded to handle the 1100+ horsepower from the engine. A special triple disc torque converter is part of the combination. The front and rear suspension is being fully upgraded with QA1 suspension components. Progress continues on a full custom 1967 Mustang build. The Arizona Hot Rod shop is in the process of changing it from a convertible, into a Fastback. Dynacorn Mfg. told Marty this is the first such conversion in the country. We’ll have more on this amazing build as it moves toward completion. The Custom Stitching Shop also has some neat jobs in the works. A ‘57 Chevy former race car is being fitted with a full new custom interior. The seats now have custom leather with Alcantara inserts. The door panels and headliner will also be matched up with the seats and of course new carpeting as well. The AZ Hot Rod shop is installing a 525HP LS3, all new custom wiring harness, an A/C system, stainless steel exhaust system and lots more. A 1968 Chevy pickup received a full Custom Stitching Shop leather two-tone custom interior. The hot rod shop had already done a lot of performance upgrades and it’s back again for several more misc. upgrades, including all new A/C lines and polished serpentine belt system. The Custom Stitching upholstery shop does a wide variety of custom upholstery work, plus, you can order custom bench and bucket seats that they will build for your special ride. They also do custom motorcycle seats. Call the Custom Stitching shop at 480-229-1214. Call the Arizona Hot Rod shop at 480-229-0327. Please mention Roddin’ Arizona when you call or stop by.
