PRK Automotive in Mesa does a wide variety of automotive repairs and updates, but their house speciality is doing General Motors LS based engine conversion/swaps. Progress continues on a ‘78 Camaro, that has been fitted with a B A D LSX 6.0 engine and 4L80E AOD transmission. One of the things that make the engine BAD are a pair of turbos that Phil is in the finishing stages of final fabrication and plumbing. This car will pretty much be a race car when completed. Next to it is a 1955 Ford Crown Victoria. The shop is installing an LS 5.3 V-8, plus it’s getting new Mustang ll front suspension and power steering. 1957 was the first year for the 9” Ford rearend, this car will be fitted with a modern version with posi. In the recent past, a FOX Body Mustang was converted to an LS engine. They are now fitting it with a new Pro-Charger sytem for a huge horse power boost. They are also installing a Holley Terminator wiring harness and doing a basic re-wire of the car. It also gets some brake upgrades. Above the Mustang is an IROC Camaro that has an LS engine. The PRK techs are installing a new Holley Sniper EFI system. The car is also getting a new 9” Ford rearend housing and a new rear suspension, that includes a 4-link set-up. The car’s floor was also replaced. These are just four current examples taking place at PRK
