Remembering Tom Jordan

The Arizona automotive community lost one of its own on June 2, 2026, with the passing of Thomas “Tom” Jordan at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. Tom was 71 years old.

Born November 19, 1954, in North English, Iowa, Tom was the son of Harry T. and Frances (Kolosik) Jordan. He later moved to Arizona and graduated from high school in Glendale. Throughout his life, Tom wore many hats, working for Giant Industries, driving for UPS, building cars, and most recently operating one of Arizona’s well-known automotive swap meets while also building a custom home in Montana.

For those who knew him, Tom’s greatest passion was the automotive hobby. Whether he was buying, selling, trading, building, or simply talking cars, he was happiest surrounded by fellow enthusiasts. His monthly swap meets became more than just a place to find parts—they became a gathering place for Arizona’s car community, where friendships were built and stories were shared.

Tom is survived by his life partner, Joleen Wiley; son Scott Jordan; daughter Crystal Evans; mother Frances Christian; brothers Donnie and TJ; sisters Brenda and Shellie; along with many nephews, nieces, cousins, and countless friends throughout the automotive world. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Jordan, and his sister, Jocelyn.

While Tom’s passing leaves a tremendous void, the swap meet he and Joline worked on so hard will continue. Joleen will carry on the monthly event, ensuring that Tom’s legacy and dedication to Arizona’s automotive community live on. The continuation of the swap meet is a fitting tribute to a man who spent so much of his life bringing car enthusiasts together.

Tom will be remembered not only for his love of automobiles, but for the friendships he created and the community he helped build. His impact on Arizona’s hot rod and collector car scene will not soon be forgotten.
