On April 4, 2026, Bill Goosic’s 27th Annual Arizona Drag Race Reunion brought the community together once again at Radford Racing School, thanks to Chuck Sundstrom. Now in its second year at this location, the event continued its tradition of celebrating the people and history behind the sport.

While no racing took place, the reunion proved that drag racing is about far more than competition. Racers, crews and families from past seasons gathered to reconnect, share stories, and honor the legacy they’ve built together. With 83 cars on display, from fuel cars to show and street cars, the event showcased the sport and the passion behind it.

The reunion has become a true hub for connection. Stories echoed throughout the venue-first races, last wins, and everything in between, making it clear that drag racing isn’t just a sport, but a lifestyle and for many, a lifelong passion.

This year’s Hall of Fame inductees- Brian Ashworth, Mike Aaby, Lloyd Christenson, Victoria Griffey, Walt Morgan, Larry Smith, Dave Waller and Bruce Williams-were honored for their lasting contributions to the sport.

A special highlight included a presentation of photos that were created by 98-year-old Tom Walsh Sr., along with awards given to recognize a few of the pioneering figures in drag racing.

More than anything, the reunion served as a powerful reminder: long after the engines go quiet, it’s the people, memories, and shared passion that keep the spirit of drag racing alive.
