Rip’s Performance

The Rip’s Performance Driveshaft shop is located in Apache Junction at 1414 E. 18th Ave. (just one block west of Tomahawk). They specialize in custom building and expert rebuilding of driveshafts for nearly any vehicle that uses one, including heavy-duty over-the-road diesel trucks. Their crew also handles a wide range of vehicle repairs and performance upgrades, plus they can take care of some trailer repairs too. One of their house specialties is building, repairing, and maintaining competitive circle track race cars. During this visit, they were scratch-building a 1980’s Chevrolet Monte Carlo into a dialedin Hobby Stock race car. They know the rulebooks and make sure every build is safe and race-ready. Another cool ride in the shop was an all-original 1970 Plymouth Fury, owned by a sharp 99-year-old gentleman who wanted a little extra giddyup when he hits the gas. So, the Fury is getting upgraded to a new 3.83 gear ratio. Up on a lift, a 1990’s Chevrolet Blazer came in with a nasty vibration issue. It’ll leave the shop with new front hubs, a thorough differential inspection, and fresh diff fluid. As always, several freshly built driveshafts were finished and staged for customer pickup.
