8th Annual Troop Box Convoy Car & Bike Show

The Troop Box Convoy Car & Bike Show is a gathering of supporters of our Veterans and active-duty Troops! The 8th annual event was another great turnout, with many cars coming to support our troops and veterans. This event is well attended by local car enthusiasts as well as spectators supporting our military.

There was a steady stream of spectators, motorheads, supporters of our troops, and yes, many snowbirds were still hanging around, as most leave by April 15th, LOL. This patriotic gathering in support of our Military is a must-attend event in Lake Havasu City. The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 81 of Lake Havasu City, with support from American Legion Post 81, Sons of the American Legion Squadron 81, and an endless list of volunteers, puts on this labor-of-love event for our country. Major sponsors include Sons of the American Legion Squadron 81, Christian Rods & Customs, American Legion Post 25 Cottonwood, Elks Lodge 2399 Veterans Committee, and many others. This event would not happen without the support of the London Bridge Plaza Association for providing facility use, restrooms, and other logistics, all of which help make this a quality event.

Providing support for troops through care packages is a major effort to enhance the morale and well-being of deployed troops worldwide by seeking, receiving, and shipping care boxes containing items specifically requested by them. During the holidays, this becomes especially important, reminding them that they are there for us and America’s freedom. There is a long history of supporting our troops, from its inception during World War I to current times. As Americans, it is our mission to help change the lives of our troops, veterans, and family members through our support.

2026 was another great year of participation and support in appreciation of our troops who are deployed to defend our nation. Since 2005, Auxiliary members have sent monthly care packages to deployed troops all over the world.

The day was seamless from arrival through the awards ceremony. Parking was handled efficiently, directing participants to their spots with little delay and providing assistance in parking our classic rides. The tradition of the Color Guard and our National Anthem is always one of this author’s favorite moments. Great food and beverages were available all day at the American Legion Post facility, which was open to the public for everyone to enjoy.

This event was open to ALL cars, trucks, military vehicles, daily drivers, race cars, and motorcycles. Yes, we had vehicles of all types and descriptions, including a train—yes, a train made to look like a car! The event also featured awards, with what seemed like an endless procession of classics being recognized. Many local clubs were in attendance, including Pharaohs of Arizona Havasu, Relics & Rods, Christian Rods & Customs, Over the Hill Gang, Outcast, and Havasu Classics.
