Every year on the fourth Saturday of March, the Troop Box Convoy Car & Bike Show gathers supporters of our troops in Lake Havasu City. The 6th annual event saw nearly 350 cars and a steady stream of spectators, making it a patriotic gathering. Organized by the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 81 with support from Post 81, Sons of American Legion Squadron 81, and numerous volunteers, major sponsors include Relics & Rods and the London Bridge Republican Women. Special thanks to the London Bridge Plaza Association for donating the facility and logistics.

Military support organizations have been around for over a century, starting during WWI. This year’s event raised $40,000 to send care packages to deployed troops, a tradition since 2005. The event aims to enhance the morale and well-being of deployed troops worldwide. Dignitaries from American Legion National attended to support the cause.

The day began with a color guard and the national anthem. Food and beverages were available all day at the American Legion Post Facility. Entertainment was provided by Fritz, a popular entertainer. Parking and registration were efficiently handled, with participants receiving a “T” shirt and swag bag.

Open to all vehicles, the show featured a diverse range of cars, from daily drivers to race cars. Forty-one awards were given out, with club awards going to groups like Pharaohs of Arizona Havasu and Relics & Rods. The event concluded with raffle prizes and a 50/50 draw.

The weather was perfect for taking photos. Save the date for next year: Saturday, March 24, 2025. If you’re heading to Havasu, don’t miss this patriotic event!
