’52 Chevy 5 Window Hauler!

This year, 1952 marked the new Chevrolet Advance Design Series trucks that were more aerodynamic in design, more room in the interior, this being the current updates. My guess is that they wanted to expand their market from traditional commercial users to guys like us who drive their rides to enjoy them. The 5 window is much desired by Chevy folks as it gives much more visibility and it’s just kool to look and see. A little thing it was the first year of the push button exterior door handles.

The engine in this ride has been upgraded from the 215CI in line six to a Cummins 5.9 Liter diesel fed by a compound turbo setup. Nice for those long hauls pulling a trailer with more project to do, as well as cruising the streets of Chino Valley, LOL. There is a lot of custom metal work and fabrication under the hood from heater lines, turbo lines, radiator cooling to just about everything to make this ride dependable as well as so Kool and well done. The transmission is a Dodge 518A which turns a Ford 8.8 with 3.31 gears. This makes for a very dependable ride that can do the heavy work plus get you down the road. The original chassis was tossed to upgrade to a S10 chevy chassis that is air bagged all around. You know this author gets nose bleeds if the ride gets over 4’ off the ground, LOL, of course I didn’t get on in Brandon’s Hauler. The exhaust is 4” all the way which makes it breath like it should. He upgraded to Hydraboost which stops this beast when you want it to. The interior is all business, bench seat, stock gauges with the necessary add Ons for Mr. Cummins to be a happy hauler. Brandon is metal fabricator, and the aluminum head liner is way kool as well as the use of aluminum and metals thru out the interior with lightening holes like the racers use, very cool. Console and shifter are well done as the door panels, a tribute to metal is evident here.

If you didn’t notice, the bed cover is not wood but aluminum that has been plaza cut out with resin put back in the holes, well done and gives a new meaning to faux wood, LOL. Being a patriot, Brandon showed his colors with the American flag in the bed to support. The hood cut out for the turbo is very well done with attention to details, again with lightening holes and that just perfect look to let you know what’s under the hood. The body is painted Magnetic Gray, body and Paint were done by ABC Autobody of Litchfield Park, but Brandon did all the metal work mods. The history of this build started 15 years ago as a driver/hauler, then he got the vision 3 years ago and in 6 months this is what you see. Good work Brandon for a home build of the highest merit, kudos to you on this weekend warrior, with over 20,000 miles on it since built.
