On March 30, 2024, the 25th Annual Drag Racers Reunion, hosted by Bill Goosic, marked a milestone in a tradition that began in 1999. What started as a casual gathering of friends in Bill’s parents’ garage to share photographs and reminisce has evolved into a major event, with over 200 vehicles participating this year. The reunion has outgrown its humble beginnings, attracting a wide variety of cars, including street cars, show cars, Jr. dragsters, and even the top fuel cars. The thrilling start-up of the fuel cars, (often referred to as a cacklefest) with the ground shaking, ears tingling, and the unmistakable scent of nitro in the air, remains a highlight for attendees, transporting everyone back to the golden days of drag racing.
The event also features a range of vendors and booths, showcasing memorabilia from both current and historic racetracks. A special highlight is the Arizona Drag Racers Hall of Fame ceremony, where past racers are honored with inductions, sharing their experiences and memories of how drag racing has shaped their lives. The inductees are awarded plaques, providing a lasting memento of their achievements.
Bill Goosic’s vision has grown from a small gathering into a cherished annual event that brings together hundreds of enthusiasts, creating memories that are special to so many. We look forward to welcoming you next year at Radford Racing School on Saturday, April 19, 2025.
