It took me 8 years to talk a farmer in Rye Colorado, into selling me the 48 Ford 2Dr Sedan. Finally started building on it in 2004 with the help of David Fletcher, Nik Sterner, Joey Sterner and Dave Sterner. Also a few hotrod friends Jim and Bob.

OWNER

Fletch Fletcher

YEAR/MAKE/MODEL

1948 FORD 2 DR. SEDAN

ENGINE

carbureted crate 5.0 Ford roller motor with aluminum heads

NICKNAME

The Leprechaun

It has original 48 Ford frame powder coated, with Mustang 2 front end, 2 inch drop spindles, carbureted crate 5.0 Ford roller motor with aluminum heads, C4 transmission, 69 Mustang 9 inch rear end, 4 wheel disc brakes and 93 Lincoln Mark 8 – 8 way power seats. The previous owner forgot to add power steering. Now, you have to eat Wheaties, Cheerios, or your Spinach, just for strength before you can turn the steering wheel just to park it, or even back up.

Upholstery was done by Louie at Country Upholstery, First Original paint done by Lloyd Green.  Thanks to Sol Cal, R&B parts, Hughes transmission, Summit Racing and Ron Frances wiring.  And thus was the creation of the ‘Leprechaun’.

The 48 was involved in a wreck in 2018. Then sold to a person in Ohio.  He decided later that he didn’t like the ‘48, and placed an Ad. On, Cars Online.com. Our son just happened to spot the ad, so our kids were able to purchase the ‘48 back and presented it to me on Father’s Day in 2020.

💚 Thanks Kids. 💚
